ASSEMBLY
1. Remove:
• crankshaft assembly

NOTE:

• Remove the crankshaft assembly with the
crankcase separating tool

• Make sure the crankcase separating tool is
centered over the crankshaft assembly.

CHECKING THE CRANKSHAFT
1. Measure:
• crankshaft runout

Out of specification
→
Replace the crank-
shaft, bearing(s) or both.
NOTE:

Turn the crankshaft slowly.
2. Measure:
• big end side clearance

Out of specification
→
Replace the big end
bearing, crankshaft pin, or connecting rod.
3. Measure:
• crankshaft width

Out of specification
→
Replace the crank-
shaft.
Maximum crankshaft runout
0.03 mm (0.0012 in)
Big end side clearance
0.35 ~ 0.75 mm
(0.0138 ~ 0.0295 in)
<Limit>: 1 mm (0.0394 in)
Crankshaft width
37.90 ~ 37.95 mm (1.492 ~ 1.494 in)
