REMOVING THE REAR SHOCK
ABSORBER ASSEMBLIES AND
SWINGARM

1. Stand the vehicle on a level surface.

Securely support the vehicle so that there is
no danger of it falling over.

NOTE:

Place the vehicle on a suitable stand so that the
rear wheel is elevated.

2. Remove:

center panel

rear cowlings (left and right)
Refer to “REMOVING THE REAR COWL-
INGS” in chapter 3.

muffler
Refer to “REMOVING THE ENGINE” in
chapter 4.

rear wheel
Refer to “REAR WHEELAND BRAKE”.

3. Remove:

drive chain case bolts
