Brake
1. Brake lever
Test the brake at a low speed when starting out to
make sure that it is working properly. If the brake
does not provide proper braking performance,
inspect the brake for wear or brake fluid leakage.
(See pages 8-19–8-20 for more details.)

A soft, spongy feeling in the brake lever indicates
a failure in the brake system.
●
Do not operate the snowmobile if you find any
problems in the brake system. You could lose
braking ability, which could lead to an accident.
Ask a Yamaha dealer to inspect and repair the
brake system.

CAUTION:

Make sure that the brake lever end does not project
out over the handlebar end. This is to prevent brake
lever damage when the snowmobile is placed on its
side.

2. Brake fluid
Check the brake fluid level. (See page 8-20.)
Add fluid if necessary.
