STEP 3
Turn on the POWER and check if all 88 keys sound correctly through headphones. (The
standard volume position is 3 o'clock.) Depress the right pedal and play some notes
to check electronic sustain function. --> OK STEP 4
Check first that if the black shutter is not damaged by taking out the keyboard when
some notes sound incorrectly. --> Test mode and Key sensor test, page 69
STEP 4
Pedal adjustment/measurement and keyboard regulation/measurement give the
disklavier optimal recording and playback capability.
PEDAL ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES
Loud (Right) pedal :
1) Check and adjust the gap (L) to 2mm by turning the wing
nut (A) while the pedal is fully depressed.
2) Rotate the rod adjuster (B) so that the damper felt are
lifted off to 4mm from strings.
3) Perform the loud pedal measurement by using maintenance
mode 03.
4) In the end of the mode 03, push +/- buttons to set mute
timing to 1.5 sec. after hammers strike. (pedal half point)
5) Perform the MIDI 7F adjustment to store the pedal stroke
end.
FUNC button --> depress pedal fully --> RECORD button
Soft Pedal :
1) Hold and raise up the cylinder (C) until (L) = 0mm. Push
the lock solenoid (D), then quit your hold (MUTE position).
2) Rotate the rod adjuster (B) so that the hammer blow dis-
tance becomes 15mm from strings.
3) Unlock (D) by pushing up the cylinder (C).
4) Adjust the hammer striking distance when the pedal fully
depressed so that it becomes 25mm from strings by turning the
wing nut (A).
5) Perform the soft pedal measurement by using maintenance
mode 04.
6) Perform the MIDI 7F adjustment to store the pedal stroke
end.
FUNC button --> depress pedal fully --> RECORD button
KEYBOARD MEASUREMENT PROCEDURES
Perform the keyboard measurement to improve the minimum pressure playback by
using maintenance mode 05.
