Is the USB interface card correctly recognized by the operating
system?
Make sure that the USB interface card is correctly recognized by the
operating system. (

If the USB interface is correctly recognized, consult your nearest
Yamaha dealer (listed at the back of this manual).
If the USB interface is not correctly recognized, refer to the
documentation that came with your computer or USB interface card. If
the problem persists, it may be caused by the device driver. In this case,
consult the manufacturer of your USB interface card or the user support
service of your computer manufacturer.
The top cover does not open even when you press the eject button.

Is any CD writing software being used?
Some CD writing software locks the eject button while it is running on a
computer. (If you are using such a software program, the top cover does
not open even if the eject button is pressed.) In this case, perform the
necessary steps in the software window to eject the disc, or exit the CD
writing software before pressing the eject button.

Can the top cover be opened if the computer is restarted?
Exit all running application software, restart your computer, and then
press the eject button of the CRW-70 drive.

Can the top cover be opened if the USB cable is disconnected from
the drive?
Disconnect the USB cable from the drive while leaving the AC adapter
connected to the drive, and press the eject button.
