Fault code No. 43 Symptom The ECU (engine control unit) is unable to monitor the
battery voltage (an open or short circuit in the line to the
ECU).

• Check the coupler for any pins
that may have pulled out.
• Check the locking condition of
the coupler.
• If there is a malfunction, repair it

curely.

2 Defective fuel injection system relay. Replace if defective.
3 Open or short circuit in the wire har-
ness. • Repair or replace if there is an
open or short circuit.
• Between the fuel injection sys-
tem relay coupler and ECU (en-
gine control unit) coupler.

• Between the fuse box coupler
and fuel injection system relay
coupler.

4 Malfunction or open circuit in fuel in-
jection system relay. • Execute the diagnostic mode.

• Replace if defective.
• If there is no malfunction with
the fuel injection system relay,
replace the ECU (engine con-
trol unit).
Fault code No. 44 Symptom Error is detected while reading or writing on EEPROM (CO
adjustment value).
