Standard Memory Scan
During
Standard Memory Scan
, scanning will pause on any signal encountered that is strong
enough to open the squelch; scanning will then resume according to the
Scan-Resume
mode
that was selected. See
Set the Scan-Resume Preference
on page 42 for details.
To Flag a Memory channel to be Scanned during Standard Memory Scan:
This is the default setting, so you only need to complete these steps if you
previously changed this setting for this
Memory
channel.
1.
Set the radio to the
Memory
mode by pressing the
key, if necessary.
2.
Rotate the
DIAL
knob to select the channel which you wish to be scanned during
Standard Memory Scan
.
3.
Press the
key for ½ second twice to select
OFF
(skip off) and exit to normal
operation.

To configure the FT−8900R for Standard Memory Scan:
This is the default setting, so you only need to complete these steps if you
previously changed this setting. This setting is stored separately for each
side of each
Hyper Memory
channel (see page 38).
1.
Press the
SET key
momentarily to enter the
Set
mode.
2.
Rotate the
DIAL
knob to select
Menu #35
SCAN M
.
3.
Press the
DIAL
knob momentarily, then rotate the
DIAL
knob to
MEM
.
4.
Press and hold in the
DIAL
knob for ½ second to save the new setting and exit to
normal operation.

To initiate Standard Memory Scan:
1.
Configure the
FT
−8900R
for
Standard Memory Scan
, if necessary.
2.
Press the
key momentarily to initiate
Standard Memory Scanning
.
3.
To cancel the
Standard Memory Scan
, press the
key momentarily.
