Use and operation
5.1
Precautions
Before starting, make sure that the safety instructions shown in
on
on page 19 have been fully read and understood.
WARNING:
Start-up and first operation must be done by a technician possessing the technical-professional
requirements outlined in the current regulations.
DANGER: Electrical hazard
Before starting work, check that the electric power supply is disconnected and locked out, to
avoid unintentional restart of the unit, the control panel and the auxiliary control circuit.
DANGER: Electrical hazard
If the unit is connected to the frequency converter, disconnect the mains power supply and
wait at least 10 minutes for the residual current to dissipate.
DANGER: Explosion due to overheating
Observe the operating limits for pressure, temperature, speed and pumped liquids.
DANGER: Explosion
The unit must be filled and vented properly before it can be started.
It is prohibited to operate the unit when dry, not primed and below the rated flow rate.
DANGER: Hot and/or toxic liquid spillage
It is prohibited to operate the unit with the on-off valves on the suction and discharge sides
closed. If the unit needs to operate for more than a few seconds with the discharge valve
closed, or below the minimum flow rate, install a bypass circuit.
WARNING:
Always wear personal protective equipment.

Always use suitable working tools.
WARNING: Injury hazard
Check that the protection devices of the coupling are installed, when applicable: risk of
physical injury.
WARNING: Electrical hazard
Check that the unit is properly connected to the mains power supply.
