Reverse polarity
Both input 'Battery DC input' and 'Solar input' are reverse polarity protected .
If one of the inputs is connected the wrong way round, this input will not
function. If the output is reversed , the internal fuse will blow. In that case, the
converter will have to be returned to the manufacturer for repair. The
associated costs are not covered by the warranty.
Short circuit on the output
If there is a short circuit on the output, the converter will switch itself off. After
the short circuit has been removed, the converter restarts automatically.
Charging current limitation
The converters are equipped with a charging current limitation. Although the
alternator can therefore supply a higher current, the converter will not deliver
more then the set charge current.
The desired charging current can be adjusted via the settings menu.
This is in steps of 5Amp. adjustable between 10~40Amp.
Factory setting is 40Amp.
Undervoltage (battery monitoring)
If the charging converter consumes more current from the first battery than
the alternator supplies, the starter battery can still be discharged. If the voltage
of the first battery drops, the charging process will be stopped at the set
undervoltage. In this way, a battery monitoring function is also built in to protect
the starter battery. If the charging converter has turned off due to
undervoltage, this will be displayed with an error code (E1)
The cut-off level for undervoltage can be adjusted if necessary via the settings
menu. Adjustable between 11.5Vdc~12.5Vdc.
Factory setting is 11.7 Volt.
Once the input voltage has risen again to the restart voltage, the charging
process will be restarted automatically
.
The restart voltage can be adjusted if necessary via the settings menu.
Adjustable between 12.5Vdc~13.5Vdc.
Factory setting is 12.8 Volt.
