4 Charging a 12 volt
Battery
It is possible to use XPower Charger 2 to
charge most engine starting batteries when
the battery is installed in a vehicle. Before
attempting to charge a vehicle battery, make
sure the battery is a 12 volt, lead-acid type.
Using the Lighter Plug Adapter
Follow these steps to recharge a 12 volt
battery using the lighter plug adapter:
1.
Turn off any lights, audio equipment, or
other 12 volt accessories that are
connected to your vehicle’s electrical
system. Make sure your vehicle is in the
park position and secured by the
emergency brake.
2.
Connect the XPower Charger 2 DC
cable to the lighter plug adapter.
3.
Insert the XPower Charger 2 DC plug
into the lighter socket or 12 volt outlet in
your vehicle. In some vehicles the
lighter socket or 12 volt outlet are
controlled by the vehicle’s ignition and it

The XPower Charger 2 is not recommended
for charging vehicle batteries over 50 amp-
hours.
