To maintain the measurement performance of your
i1
iO over its life time, it is important to
observe some rules and to periodically clean certain parts that are critical for measurement
performance.
• The i1 iO device is sensitive to mechanical shocks. To avoid damage during transport the i1 iO
must be always shipped in its original packaging.
• Do not store or operate the i1 iO device in dirty, greasy or dusty environments. The i1 iO must
be protected from chemical agents, corrosive vapors, strong vibration and mechanical impact.
Do not use the
i1
iO in environments with temperatures higher than 35 °C (95 ºF) or less than
10 °C (50 ºF). Do not store the i1 iO in environments with temperatures higher than 50 °C
(122 ºF) or less than -10 °C (14 ºF).The plastic housing of the device may be cleaned using a
cloth dampened in water with a soap solution if necessary.
• The electrostatic mat of the
i1
iO should be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol on clean cloth.
Alkaline solvents and soap should never be used to clean this mate.

iO is equipped with a long time stable ceramic white reference tile which acts as a
secondary reference to the white reference provided with your
i1
Pro instrument. Keep
the white reference clean at all times. You can clean the white reference ceramic tile with
isopropyl alcohol on a soft clean cloth if required. Unless the ceramic tile is damaged
recertification is not required. You can use
i1
Diagnostics to check the ceramic white reference
tile's accuracy.
