13. Positioning and measurement
• The printed sheet should always be placed on a stable measuring base
• Position the DensiEye on the measuring field using the measuring diaphragm
• By lowering the measuring head, the measuring diaphragm is pulled back and a measurement is initiated
• The measuring head can be lifted off again once the measuring results have been displayed, or a message
14. Calibration
• The prerequisite for precise measuring results is the calibration of the device using the relevant calibration card
• The density standard and the filter on the calibration card must match the device data
• Paper white base or absolute white base must be selected before calibration using the Function Settings menu bar in the main menu
• Select the Calibration function in the main menu
• Depending on the white base, “Calibration Paper” or “Calibration Absolute” will be displayed in the header row

The relevant reference values for paper white or absolute white standard on the calibration card should be used, depending on the white base
selected
• Calibrate the device according to the instructions given in the help bar
• X-Rite recommends checking the calibration using density measurements
• X-Rite recommends using a calibration card only if multiple devices need to be calibrated
