Cleaning Procedure
Clean the grill during slow periods as well as at the end of each day. To do so:
1. Turn both heat controls to 3 and the toggle switch to ON so the rollers turn.
2. When the roller tubes become hot, turn off the heat and allow them to cool until they are still warm but not enough to burn your
fingers.
3. Using a moist cloth and crushed or flaked ice, wipe each tube from end to end, extending the cloth as far as possible between
the rollers.
4. If stains are still present, add a light detergent to the cloth and repeat.
CAUTION:
Avoid the use of abrasive powders or pads, as the finish may be damaged.
5. Remove the drip pan and wash it in hot soapy water; rinse.
6. Replace the pan; turn the unit off if grill will not immediately be used.
NOTE:
Cleanup will be faster if the product is specifically made for cooking on roller grills. Several meat packers now offer this
product.
Nonscheduled Maintenance
Under normal circumstances, with reasonable care and periodic cleaning, the HOTROD should require little non-scheduled
maintenance. All routine repairs should be performed by personnel with extensive service experience.
However, the grease seal may require periodic replacement. The grease seal is held on the tube by friction and must be stretched
before it can be installed. A Grease Seal Expander Kit (part no. 4469) may be ordered from your distributor.
