SUMMIT
Operator’s Manual
SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS FOR ALL PROCEDURES:
1. The Summit is designed to be used ONLY on level surfaces.
2. ALWAYS unlock the wheels while lifting and lowering the patient.
3. Inspect the lift functions prior to any patient use. Ensure all functions are in proper working
order.
4. Prior to using the Summit for transfer, the patient must be assessed by a qualified professional
to determine the suitability of using the Summit with that patient.
5. Never leave the patient unattended while strapped to the Summit, or during any portion of the
lift procedure.
6. Ensure the patient has the sling mounted properly around the waist with arms outside the sling
and straps.
7. Never move the lift using the actuators as handles.
8. Warranty applies only if repairs or alterations are performed by an authorized technician.
9. Never exceed the safe working load. SWL is 500 lbs.
CLEANING AND DISINFECTION:
1. Do not power wash the Summit.
2. Painted and plastic surfaces (other than electronics): When cleaning and disinfecting, use a
5.25% chlorine bleach dilution and an EPA registered Hard Surface Disinfectant on painted
and plastic surfaces. On all exposed metallic surfaces use an EPA registered Hard Surface
disinfectant wipe that does not contain sodium hypochlorite (bleach).
3. Electronics: Ensure actuators are at their minimum stroke before cleaning. Organic solvents
like halogenide/aromatic hydrocarbons and ketones must not be used. Observe the following
regarding detergents and disinfectants on electronic components:
a. Do not use strong alkaline or acidic compounds (pH value 6-8).
b. Compounds must not contain corrosive or caustic material.
