1. Remove a single dust cover from the nosepiece (

). When it is removed, an
opening is revealed (

). For ease of installation, that opening should point
straight up through the opening on the microscope stage.

2. Remove the desired objective from its shipping case (
Fig. 40
). Then, remove the cap-
tive dust cover (its cap) (

3. Insert the objective into the nosepiece and rotate it clockwise. Finger tighten it
(

). DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN. Finger tight is sufficient!
