TROUBLE-SHOOTING GUIDE
PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE POSSIBLE REMEDY
Grapple Rake
clamp will not
operate. 1. No or insufficient oil flow. Remote hydraulic connection fittings not
compatible. Check for proper fitting.
Hydraulic system may not be supplying
rated pressure. Consult your dealer.
Hydraulic system may not be delivering its
rated volume of oil due to wear. Hydraulic
pump may need to be repaired.
Hydraulic valve on tractor or skid steer not
engaged.
Grapple Rake is
loose on loader. 1. Attachment not correct. U-bolts that connect quick-attach brackets
to main frame may be loose or worn.
Tighten or replace U-bolts
NOTE: If bolts are loose or damaged, it
could be that they were never properly
tightened. It also could be that the opera-
tor is impacting the Grapple Rake into
stumps or ground during operation.
Grapple Rake mount may not be properly
latched on tractor or skid steer loader.
Check lock pins.
Hydraulic hose
failure. 1. Hydraulic relief pressure setting is
very high and may cause
hydraulic hose failure.
2. Hoses are worn or frayed.
3. Hose rating may be too low for
hydraulic system pressure.
4. Hose is being pinched by move-
ment of loader mount or loader
linkage.
Check hydraulic system and adjust relief
valve.
Replace hose.
Replace with higher rated hoses.
Reroute hose and refasten.
Hydraulic oil over-
heats. 1. Hydraulic oil level in power unit
may be low.
2. Hydraulic oil or oil filter in power
unit may be dirty.
3. Hydraulic oil reservoir of power
unit may be small.
Check and add oil.
Change oil and filter according to power
unit manufacturer’s recommendations.
Allow time for oil to cool down.
