c)
Abrasive devices may only be used for the recommended application options.
For example: Never performing grinding work with the side of a cutting disk.
Cutting disks are intended for the removal of material with the edge of the disk.
The exertion of force upon this abrasive device from the side can break them.
d) Always use undamaged clamping flange with the right size and form for the
grinding disk selected by you.
An appropriate flange supports the grinding disk and thus reduces the risk of the
grinding disk breaking. The flange for the cutting disks can differ from the flanges for
other grinding disks.
e) Do not use any wornout grinding wheels of larger power tools.
Grinding wheels for larger power tools are not designed for the higher rotational
speeds of smaller power tools and can break.
Additional special safety directions for the abrasive cutting process:
a) Avoid the locking of the cutting disk or a level of grinding pressure that is too
high. Do not perform any excessively deep cuts.
The overloading of the cutting disk increases the strain upon it and its susceptibility
to jamming or locking and thus the possibility of a recoil or a breakage of an
abrasive agent.
b) Avoid the area prior to and behind the rotating cutting disk.
If you move the cutting disk in the workpiece away from you the power tool with
the rotating disk can be catapulted directly towards you in the event of a recoil.
c) If the cutting disk gets jammed or you interrupt the work switch the tool off
and hold it steadily until the disk comes to a standstill. Never try to pull the
cutting disk that is still running out of the cut as this could result in a recoil.
Determine and rectify the cause of the jamming.
d) Do not switch the power tool on again whilst it is still in the workpiece. First
allow the cutting disk to reach its full rotational speed before carefully
continuing with the cut.
Large workpieces can bend under their own weight. The workpiece must be supported
on both sides of the disk and indeed both close to the centre cut and also at the
edge.
e) Prop up panels or large workpieces to reduce the risk of a recoil when a cutting
disk jams.
Large workpieces can bend under their own weight. The workpiece must be supported
on both sides of the disk and indeed both close to the centre cut and also at the
edge.
