The serrated adapter slides are supple-
mented with a cutting fluid feeder
6
to
improve the cutting fluid feed to the cut-
ting edge.
Insert the cutting fluid feeder into the
mounting bore in the slide and secure it
with the two threaded taper pins
(tighten ing torque 8 Nm (70.81 in. lbs.)).
When the grooving cutter is fitted in the
adapter (Fig. 7), it reaches its cutting
edge position by applying the face
8
at
the shank end and is clamped on the
slanting surface by a tapered grub screw
7
(tightening torque 4 Nm (35.4 in. lbs.)).
When mounting
insert holders for
outside turning or holders for axial
grooving
on the serrated slide, note that
the thread pin
9
has to be removed if
coolant
is used.
Attention:
For an accurate to size cutting position
for outside turning and axial grooving,
we recommend a 1 mm (.039") in dia-
meter revised slide position.
Caution:
Do not fit the threaded taper
pins without the coolant
delivery section. At the
same time, always ensure that the fee-
der is secured with the two threaded
taper pins, since loose pins could
cause an accident.
Outside turning tool holder
Ø 4-66 mm (Ø .157"-2.598"
(Fig. 8 + 9)
When fitting the finish-turning insert hol-
der, note that it is turned through 180°.
Because of this circumstance, diameter
adjustments when using this insert hol-
der must be carried out opposite to the
method described in the section
”Diameter adjustment” (Page 14):
Turning to + = Reduction in diameter
Turning to – = Increase in diameter
scale on the insert holder is applicable to
the slide central position (= 0).
For balancing, secure counterweight
5
to the opposite K-profile with a cheese-
head screw. This counterweight must be
fitted according to the setting on the
scale of the insert holder fitted opposite.
