Dolby
®
ATMOS Visualizer Screen
Dolby ATMOS decoding is an optional feature requiring the OPT-DOLBY ATMOS
module. It allows decoding of Dolby
®
ATMOS content, along with the familiar
Dolby
®
D, Dolby
®
D+, and Dolby
®
E content. Because of the increased number of
channels, up to 7.1.4, Dolby
®
ATMOS creates an amazing experience over speakers
and over headphones, with breathtaking, moving audio that flows above and
around you. Wohler’s Dolby ATMOS option allows broadcasters to confidence
monitor the Dolby ATMOS signal on the speakers and headphone output, view
meters, access Wohler’s proprietary Dolby Zoom functionality, review related
MetaData, and route the audio externally to SDI or analog outputs on the rear
panel.
To complement this feature, the iAM-12G-SDI contains a screen which can help you
visualize the location of each audio bed or dynamic channel, both actual and
dynamic channels. The audio bed is the arrangement of speakers in the listening
room. The sounds produced by the audio bed accurately simulate the locations of
the dynamic objects, which are heard as sound sources from any location in the
listening room. The Dolby ATMOS Visualizer Screen is available whenever Dolby
Zoom is selected and is depicted in Figure 2.21.
Note:
The
ATMOS Decode
setting in the Dolby Settings screen must be set to
ON
for the Dolby ATMOS Visualizer screen to be available in the Dolby MetaData
screen.
Figure 2.21 – Dolby ATMOS Visualizer Screen
At the top center of the Dolby MetaData screen is either an
Atmos 3D
or a
Show
Video
button. Touch this button to alternate between displaying the video program
or the Dolby ATMOS Visualizer screen. This screen offers views of the listening
room. There are two basic 3D views of the screen, as illustrated in Figures 2.22 and
2.23, front view and top view. The
Adjust B
knob can be pressed to select between
front and top views.
The Presentation Type setting in the Dolby MetaData screen is used to display
relevant metadata for either audio bed or dynamic objects. Touch the arrows to
change the selection. The
Adjust A
knob can also be pressed to select different
Presentation Types.
