Instructions for fi tting
1. Place the breathing half-mask on your hand so
that the two bands hang down freely and the nose
piece is at the front.
2. Place the breathing half-mask under your chin
with the nose piece at the top and pull the lower
elastic band over onto the back of your neck.
3. Pull the upper elastic band over onto the back of
your head.
4. Pinch the nose piece slightly to achieve an opti-
mum seal around your nose.
5. Check for correct fi t by placing both hands around
the breathing half-mask and exhaling hard. If air
leaks round the nose piece, the nose piece must
be pressed on harder; if the seal at other points is
poor, the seating of the breathing half-mask must
be altered slightly and adjusted until it fi ts the
shape of the face.
* MAK(= maximum workplace concentration) is the
concentration of a substance in the air at the work-
place at which employees‘ health is generally not
impaired. (§ 3 Para. 5 GefStoffVGerman Hazardous
Substances Ordinance).
** TRK (= technical reference concentration) is
the concentration of a substance in the air at the
workplace which may be reached according to the
current level of technology. (§ 3 Para. 7 GefStoffV -
German Hazardous Substances Ordinance).
