Uplink Connection Options
The S-Box supports three types of uplink connection: USB, RS232
and Ethernet. Multiple uplinks can be connected by adding
expansion ports to the S-Box as required.
USB Connections: These are generally
used for GSM/GPRS modems. The S-
Box has drivers for a range of USB
devices.
Please contact Wired Ocean to
find out if a USB device that you plan to
use is supported.
The S-Box has four
USB ports; if more are needed a USB
hub can be used.
Warning
:
RS232 cables should be
no longer than 2 metres
when connected between
the S-Box and an uplink
device. Longer cables
may cause interference
depending on the data
rate and quality of cable.
If longer cabling is
needed, use a USB
connection or an RS232
to RS422 converter.
