Main faults, causes and remedies
If the fault cannot be remedied, please contact the trade or your near-
est Wilo-After-sales Service or agent.

Cause
Remedy
The pump fails to run
Magnetothermal breaker tripped
Check that the motor phases are not
in short-circuit. Replace the motor if
necessary.
Reset the circuit breaker.
Pump shaft blocked
Switch off the electric supply of the
switchgear and then check the shaft
turns freely, if it is blocked, see
installation and operating instruc-
tions of the pump.
The pump fails to prime
Air leak at suction
Check tightness of all suction pipe
connections.
Suction pipe obstructed or valve on
suction side closed
Check valve opening and clean the
piping if necessary.
No delivery pressure
The pump turns the wrong way
Check direction of rotation of the
pump. Interchange two phases on
the motor terminal block if direction
is not correct.
One or two pumps are no more
primed
See before.
The pump is obstructed by particles
Dismantle the pump and clean it.
Voltage of the motor is too low
Check the voltage on motor termi-
nals.
The motorised valve fails to open
The valve is blocked
Check the lock using the hand oper-
ating key supplied with the valve .
The servomotor is not powered or
under-supplied
Check the wiring.
Check the voltage of the motorised
valve in the switchgear.
Valve opening timer too short or no
timer
Adjust it.
The fault indicator lights
The motorised valve fails to close
See before.
Timer of leakage detector too short
Adjust it to the recommended value.
If necessary, increase slightly.
The sludge disposal is clogged
Check the piping and clean if neces-
sary.
Defective automation device
Switchgear or cabinet defective
See installation and operating
instructions of the switchgear.
Wires disconnected
Check all connections to the termi-
nal block of the switchgear.
