Water Heater
4.6 PCB replacement procedure AK1264
The following images indicate the replacement procedure of the Whale Water Heater PCB.

PCB replacement procedure
Before you start:
! Ensure Water Heater is cold to touch.
! Remove 8
–
way connector block from Water Heater.
! Close gas supply / Isolate 230V supply.
Step 1
Remove top and bottom assembly screws using
a Pozi 2 screwdriver and slide front cover along
hot water outlet hose as far as possible to gain
access
Step 2
Take note of PCB wire location,
remove wires carefully (use pliers
where applicable) and remove
PCB from Water Heater (4 x
screws)
Loom
Supply
Thermistor
Solenoid
Overheat thermostat
Step 3
Fit new PCB on mounting studs
provided on Water Heater, and
re-connect all cables as before.
Ensure
Jumper is NOT fitted
to
connection CN8 on new PCB
Step 4
Re-assemble Heater front cover
