4.5 Replacement of hydraulic components
4.5.1 Replace PRV/Drain valve AK1205

Replacement of Heater cold water connection
! Drain down Water Heater before replacing PRV/Drain valve.
- remove drain hose from PRV outlet
and retain for further use
- push in grey collet
- pull out faulty valve
- push in replacement valve
- check engagement of valve by slightly
pulling on valve, fit drain hose to PRV
- re- commission system (see 4.12)

! Drain down Water Heater before replacing cold water connection
- remove clear drain hose from PRV
outlet and retain for further use
- to remove PRV, push in grey collet,
pull out PRV
- remove PRV valve and retain for
further use
- to remove 12mm stem tee
- push in grey collet
- pull stem tee out and retain for
further use
- remove 12mm tank fitting
- apply 22mm spanner to hex and
turn anti clockwise
- if tank fitting has sheared leaving
threaded part of fitting inside the
tank, use pliers or bolt extractor
to remove remaining fitting
- remove 12mm tank fitting by
hand once loose
- apply new 12mm tank fitting and
tighten up firmly
- ensure
fitting
is
not
over
tightened as this will result in
damage to the threads
- replace stem tee, push fitting firmly
into tank fitting, pull back on stem
tee to ensure it is locked
- replace PRV, push PRV into stem
tee firmly, pull back to ensure PRV
is locked
- replace drain hose to PRV and
direct down through the floor
- recommission system (see 4.12)
