Start-up and Operation
First Steps for Measuring
The total width is 64 mm. This width is important when measuring the
distance incl. the width of the device or not.
In order to measure correctly observe possible measuring errors (see
page 23).
1. Switch on the device by pressing the button
(10). The initial
setting is “Feet/Inch“. The display shows a flashing
0
and the refer-
ence arrow is
(D).
2. If you want to change the measuring unit to “Meter“, press both
keys
simultaneously and keep them pressed for 2 x 6 sec-
onds. The display changes to the measuring unit “Meter” and
shows
0,000
m. The last setting will always be saved.
3. To measure a distance, decide if you want to include the width of
the housing into calculation or not. For this, see the examples on
the next page.
4. To start measuring, press the button
(10) and the measuring
result (H) stops flashing. If the value on the display is not
0,000
m
press the clear button (9) to reset.
Adding and Subtracting Distances
By means of the
button (10) you can either add distances together
or subtract them. Measure the first distance and press the
button.
Now the display is flashing and you can position the device on another
place without changing the measured result.
Press the button
once more, the measuring result stops flashing
and the distance will be added to the calculation.
In order to subtract the value from the calculation, roll the device to the
opposite direction.
