5. The Tape Measure
If an ultrasonic distance measurement is not possible, because too many
obstacles are in the measuring line or the target is unsuitable, you can use
the integrated tape measure (8). The tape measure is 5 m long and
equipped with a special coating. This low reflection coating makes it easier
to read from the tape and makes the tape more resistant against abrasion.
To pull out the tape (8), grasp the end and pull the tape out as far as
desired. To retract the tape, press the tape retract button (7) until the tape
has been fully retracted.
The metal clip on the tape measure is movable and can be moved as far as
its material in thick. This makes it easier to measure outside (A) and inside
(B) dimensions down to the millimetre.
Please Notice: The tape is retracted very rapidly and it may happen that the
tape moves in an uncontrolled manner during retracting. Therefore press the

the measuring object and a
precise result is measured.
The thickness of the material
of the clip is automatically
subtracted from the measured
value.
When measuring inside dimensions,
the clip is pushed back by one
millimetre. This way the front end can
be set against the measuring object
and the thickness is added to the
measured value.
