Operation
Installation
To use the wood lathe, you need an adequately sized workbench upon
which the lathe can either be mounted permanently or fastened in place
with the help of screw clamps.
Assembling the Lathe Bed
The lathe bed (H + I) is supplied in two parts.
The two parts have to be screwed together if
you want to turn long sections of wood.
To do so, use the four provided M8 screws (K).
Use washers (N) on both sides. To secure the
nuts in place, put the spring washers (M) on the
screws (K) before screwing on the M8 nuts (L).
There are a total of eight holes in the base of the
belt array (A) and the bottom rail of the lathe bed for fastening the lathe
onto a workbench. If you only intend to use the lathe occasionally, it is
advisable to fasten the lathe onto a workbench with screw clamps. Use
at least 3 screw clamps with one as close as possible to the middle of
the lathe bed in order to prevent the lathe bed from bending when
clamping a long piece of wood.
Assembling and Fitting the Tailstock
1. First of all, connect the provided hand wheel
(20) to the spindle screw (16).
2. Push the hand wheel onto the shaft and
fasten it in place by tightening the locking
screw (19) with the enclosed Allen key (U).
Place the tailstock (E) on the lathe bed from
above.
3. Push the M18 screw (R) through the hole in
the base of the tailstock. Position the guide
track plate (Q) underneath and screw the
clamping lever (O) onto the screw.
