Air Filter Cleaning
A dirty air filter will restrict air flow to the carburettor which leads to reduced
engine performance. Clean the air filter frequently.
Operating the engine with a very soiled or damaged air filter assembly, will
allow dirt to enter the engine and this will cause rapid engine wear.
1. Unlock the cover of the filter housing
and remove the cover. Remove the
filter Assy. The air filter Assy consists
of the black sponge filter and a paper
filter.
2. When the paper filter is lightly soiled
tap the filter carefully on a flat, hard
surface. Or clean the filter with
compressed. If the paper filter is
heavily soiled, replace it.
3. Clean the sponge filter with warm water and mild detergent. Allow the
sponge filter to dry completely before using again.
4. Reattach the filter Assy in reverse order and close the filter cover.
Draining the Fuel Tank
Try to use as much fuel as necessary for mowing the lawn. Left fuel in the tank
will volatilize. This might cause hard starting.
1. To drain remaining fuel, place a large
container with funnel below the fuel tank
in order to avoid fuel spillage.
2. Undo the hose clamp from the hose and
pull out the hose from the tank. Allow
fuel to drain into the suitable container.
3. Wipe of spillage with a cloth. Re-attach
the hose to the fuel tank with the hose
clamp.
