PLAYING A TAPE
FIRST STEP:
(1) Plug the power cable in to the mains AC power supply.
(230~240V/50Hz)
(2) Rotate the volume knob to switch the unit on, keeping the
volume quite low to start.
(3) Insert a cassette tape into the tape slot as shown in picture 2
with the exposed tape facing away from the control button.
(4) When the tape is inserted plat will start automatically
SECOND STEP:
(1)To fast forward the tape press the control button down lightly
until about halfway, but not down completely, when released
the button should stay and the tape will fast forward
(2) Press the control button again lightly to release and com-
mence with normal play
THIRD STEP:
(1)To stop play and remove the tape, press the control button
down fully to eject the tape
COMBINED LINE OUT AND LINE IN RCA SOCKETS
The RCA sockets on the top of the tape player allow the user to
connect to a stereo input on devices such as Hi Fi amplifiers and
play through them, and that can also work as a line in so that
external devices can be played through and recorded via the
tape player USB. Just connect using an RCA cable (not sup-
plied). Note: the volume control does not affect the Line Out
volume.
RECORD VIA USB
This enables you to record direct from your tape to your compu-
ter so that it can be saved in a digital format. The Windows ver-
sion of Audacity is included on the CD that came with your Tape
Player, the version for MAC users can be downloaded for free
from: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/mac

Install the Audacity software provided with the USB Tape
Player on to your computer
2.
Connect the USB cable to the device and computer, no extra
driver is required.

Open the Audacity program and you will see this interface
screen on your computer.

If option is enabled click on the Stereo Mix in the drop down
menu and select «Microphone».
This may not be required on all systems, if the box is blanked
out go direct to point 5.

Select the «Edit» from the menu bar at the top and then
«Preferences». On the Audio I/O page against Recording
devices select the tape player, depending on your computer
and software this could be called «USB PnP Audio Device»
or if it has used a generic driver applicable to your sound
card it something like HD AUDIO INPUT as shown in the
example below. Against Channels select «2 (stereo)». You
can also select «Software Playthrough» to hear the audio
through your computer while recording but please note that it
will still play through the Tape Player as well but this is got to
check that the correct input selection has been made. Click
OK to return to the main interface screen.
