7. Remove the detergent tank and set it off to the side.
8. It is now time to remove the pump from the engine.
Before proceeding, read the notes below.
You can either:
1. Place the unit on an elevated surface and tilt it backwards onto its back.
NOTE:
if you
choose this option, you will need to have an assistant hold the engine as you remove the
pump mounting bolts.
Do not use this option if you are working without a helper.
2. Keep the unit in its normal orientation on the ground. This will make it easier to install the
replacement pump, but it will also be more difficult to remove the old pump.
NOTE:
if you
choose this option, the pump will drop downwards as you remove it from the frame. Be
prepared to catch it.
9. Go back and read step 8 again, just in case.
10. Use a 10mm wrench or socket to remove the three screws shown in Fig. 6 below.
NOTE: if you
chose option 8.1 in step 8, have a helper hold the engine in position as you loosen and
remove the bolts. If you do not, the engine will want to drop down, which could damage
the engine.
