SPARK ARRESTOR MAINTENANCE

It is recommended to inspect and clean the spark arrestor (Fig.
28) every 200 hours of operation.

1. The spark arrestor is located outside the muffler, which gets
very hot during operation. Allow the engine to cool completely
before servicing the spark arrestor.

2. Unscrew the six Phillips head screws and remove the muffler
cover (Fig. 25 - 1).

3. Remove the screw that retains the spark arrestor to the muffler.

4. Remove the spark arrestor screen.

5. Carefully clean and remove the carbon deposits from the spark

MAINTENANCE

DRAINING THE FUEL TANK

Clean fuel tank each year and before storing the generator for longer than one to two months. To drain the fuel
tank and carburetor before storage:

1. Remove the fuel cap; carefully turn the generator over to pour the gasoline in the fuel tank to an approved
container.

2. Once fuel is drained, reinstall the fuel cap.

3. Take the generator outside and make sure to follow all the safety rules for starting the generator. Run the en-
gine and keep the engine running until it stops. This burns out the fuel in the carburetor and fuel tank.

4. Store the emptied gasoline in a suitable place. DO NOT store flammable materials near the gasoline.

CAUTION:

Do not store fuel for more than two months.
