2.3 Installing the column-selection valve
When the 30-cm CH or 30-cm CHC module is configured with a column-selection valve kit option,
the valve assembly is installed on site.
Required tools and materials
• #2 Phillips screwdriver
• T20 TORX driver
To install the column-selection valve:
1.
Power-off the sample manager and, if applicable, power-off the 30-cm CHC module by its
on/off switch or by removing the power cord from its power-entry module.
2.
Open the column-compartment door, and remove the drip tray from the compartment
bottom.
Tip:
Before removing the drip tray, note how the tray and drain fitting are positioned in the
compartment so that after the valve is installed you can reinstall the tray and drain fitting in
its proper position.
3.
Set the drip tray aside, for reinstallation.
4.
Insert the valve assembly through the back of its bracket, and attach it in place using the
four, bracket fasteners provided in the kit.

Using the T20 TORX driver, tighten the four bracket fasteners, securing the assembly to
the bracket.
