5.27 X-ring

X-ring provides a faster redundant recovery than the spanning tree topology. The

action is similar to STP and RSTP, but the algorithms that are used are not the same.

To use the X-ring topology, the X-ring function must be

enabled

and the switch must

assign two member ports in the ring. One switch in the X-ring group should be set as a

backup switch that one of two member ports will be blocking. That switch is the backup

port, and the other port is the working port. The other switches are working switches

and their two member ports are working ports. If there is a network connection failure,

the backup port will automatically become a working port to recover the failure.
