6.0 Operation of CLI Management
Section 4 of this manual provides detailed information for console connection to the switch.
This section provides detailed syntax and examples for CLI management.
6.1 Login
The command-line interface (CLI) is a text-based interface. You can access the CLI through
either a direct serial connection to the device or a Telnet session. The default login identification
is:
Username: admin
Password: admin
After you login successfully, the prompt will be shown as “
#
“ if you are the first login person and
your authorization is administrator; otherwise it may show “
$
“. The “

“ symbol allows you to
perform administrator functions and have full access to the system. The “
$
“ symbol allows you
to perform guest functions. Guest functions only permit the system to be viewed. You will not
be able to modify settings on the switch with the guest login.
