6. Adjusting the opening pressure

Dismantle injection valve (section 4).
⇒
Replace shim rings 8 by adjusting disc 94280 of 10.2 mm thickness.
⇒
Assemble injection valve (section 5).
⇒
Check injection valve (section 2) and note the opening pressure as ’p

Dismantle injection valve, replace adjusting disc 94280 by 94280a of 10.5 mm
thickness and reassemble injection valve.

Check injection valve and note the opening pressure as ’p

Remove adjusting disc 94280a.
⇒
Determine thickness ’h’ of shim rings 8 to be fitted.
6.1 Determining of total shim thickness ’h’
The total shim thickness ’h’ can be determined with the following formula:
h = 10.5 − x 0.3

Example:

h = 10.5 − (412−375) : (412−389) x 0.3
h = 10.5 − 0.48 = 10.02 mm

total shim thickness ’h’
In this example there are shim rings with a total thickness of 10 mm to be fitted.
Remark: Ensuring the determined total thickness, the premachined shim rings
must be used which are delivered with every injection valve.
After the proper shim rings have been fitted, the injection valve must be rechecked
confirming the specified opening pressure.
