Samwel 12V Conversion Kits
for 32E Generators
Item-
№
13-815
• Note: Use grease on the oil seal. The armature
must be pulled carefully into the bearing. Do not
use force, do not hammer. If necessary, build
yourself tools!
• Check air gap between armature and field coil
cores: 0.8 mm on both sides. If the air gap is too
small, re-tighten field coil screws. Here, too, a
special tool like a pressing arbour can be useful.
• Mount brush carrier and connect field coils (see
diagram).
• After correct connection of the coils, the relay
terminal will serve as A terminal, the switch ter-
minal as F terminal (important for connection of
the regulator).
• Replace bearing ID 12 mm in left side bearing
carrier and complete generator assembly. As
mentioned above, omit the carrier of the 3rd
brush together with the brush. The generator
must be polarized before installation or at least
before connecting the regulator.
Content:
• 2 field coils 12 V, pre-wired
• 1 armature 12 V
• 1 bearing ID 15 mm
• 1 bearing ID 12 mm
• 1 oil seal ID 19
• 1 gasket for brush carrier
Assembly:
• Dismantle and clean the generator completely.
(See manuals for details.) Check parts and buy
damaged ones.
• Put 3rd brush (= regulating brush) aside.
• Mount the oil seal in the housing with the
sealing lip facing towards the engine. Reuse
circlip if possible.
• Mount 15 mm bearing in housing, pay attention
to perpendicularity.
• Mount new 12 V field coils in the housing (see
illustration). Ensure that the cables are laid
correctly!
• Mount the armature in the housing.
