General
It is common practice for the dealer where you purchased your gas fi replace to take also care of installing it and connecting it
to the gas mains. If this is not the case, please ensure that the installation is done by a certifi ed installer. Connecting gas devices
by unqualifi ed persons is prohibited, in which case we cannot give any guarantee that your gas hearth is functioning properly.
Location of controls and receiver
To get to the controls and the receiver, please complete the following steps:
•
Remove the front plate by pulling it towards you. It is attached with magnets.
• Carefully put the front plate off to the side.
• The receiver has a protective hood to shield it from the heat.
Here, you will fi nd the gas control unit (Mertik GV60-M1 C5D3KL) and the
receiver (Mertik GV60-R4AU (standard) or B6R-R8P (Symax)).
Setting the controls (standard)
For setting the remote and other information regarding the controls, please consult page 60 and up.
Adapter
The receiver can be equipped with an adapter (art.nr. INK3270), which then eliminates the need for batteries in the receiver. In
the event of a power outage, you can add said batteries in order to still be able to operate the fi replace.
Gas-saving system
The control will turn down to pilot fl ame if there is no communication between handset and receiver for a 3 hour period. After
5 days it will shut down completely.

Operation (remote control with EcoWave)
For the complete explanation of the operation via the SYMAX-remote control, please refer to the instruction manual supplied
separately.
Operation (optional Wanders EcoWave app)
It is possible to order the optional Wi-Fi module in order to operate the fi replace using the Wanders EcoWave app,
The app can be downloaded for free at the Apple App Store and/or the Google Play Store. Incidentally, the app can only be
used in combination with the SYMAX EcoWave remote control.
Manual controls
The fi replace can be lit and operated manually in the event of a power outage. For more information, please consult page 71.
Using the hearth for the fi rst time
When you light your gas hearth for the fi rst time, the hearth must ‘anneal’. The unit has a heat-resistant lacquer which must
still burn in. Though this may give an unpleasant smell, it is otherwise harmless. It is advisable to burn the stove at its highest
position for about three hours while airing the room well.
