.3 MACHINE BREAK-IN
Although there are no operational restrictions on
the Log Grapple Trailer when used for the first
time, it is recommended that the following me-
chanical items be checked:
A.
After operating for hour:
1. Check that all boom pivot points move
freely.
2. Check that the grapple and pivot move
freely.
3. Check for leaks in the hydraulic system.
Tighten leaking fittings. Repair or replace
any damaged components.
4. Torque all fasteners and hardware.
5. Check fluid levels in the engine and hy
-
draulic reservoir. Top up as required.
6. Check for entangled material. Remove all
entangled material before resuming work.
7. Check tire pressure. Inflate as required.
B.
After operating for 0 hours:
1. Repeat steps 1 through 7 listed above.

2. Change engine oil.
3. Go to the normal servicing and mainte-
nance schedule as defined in the Mainte
-
nance Section.
. PRE-OPERATION CHECKLIST
Efficient and safe operation of the Wallenstein Log
Grapple Trailer requires that each operator reads
and understands the using procedures and all re-
lated safety precautions outlined in this section. A
pre-operation checklist is provided for the opera-
tor. It is important for both the personal safety and
maintaining good mechanical condition that this
checklist is followed.
Before operating Trailer and each time thereafter,
the following areas should be checked off:
1. Lubricate the machine per the schedule out-
line in the Maintenance Section.
2. Check that all boom pivot points move freely.
3. Check that the grapple and pivot move freely.
4. Check for leaks in the hydraulic system.
Tighten leaking fittings. Repair or replace any
damaged components.
5. Torque all fasteners and hardware.
6. Check fluid levels in the engine and hydraulic
reservoir. Top up as required.
7. Check for entangled material. Remove all
entangled material before resuming work.
8. Check tire pressure. Inflate as required.
9. Make sure that all guards and shields are in
place, secured and functioning as designed.
