5.9.6 Starting the Engine
CAUTION!
Before starting the engine, review the safety,
operating, and maintenance instructions in the
engine manual.

WARNING!
Engine exhaust contains carbon monoxide, an
odorless, poisonous gas. Breathing it can cause
unconsciousness or death.
Never operate engine in a closed, or even partly
closed area. Exhaust gases can build up to
dangerous levels.

CAUTION!
Hearing loss hazard. Prolonged
exposure to loud noise may cause
permanent hearing loss. Use suitable
protection while operating the
machine.

Make sure the conveyor is set up to work and otherwise ready
to run.

Slide the fuel valve lever toward the block (2) to turn fuel
ON.

If the engine is cold, close the choke (push choke lever
to the left). To start a warm engine, leave the choke open
(lever pushed to the right).

Move the throttle lever away from the MIN. position, about
1/3 of the way toward the MAX position.
4.
Turn the engine ignition switch ON.

Pull the starter grip out lightly until resistance is felt, then
pull briskly in the direction of the arrow as shown below.
Return the starter grip gently.
