11. Troubleshooting
Problem
Possible cause
Remedy
The device is switched
on, but does not show any
function.
Mains cable not plugged in or
not plugged in correctly.
Power packs are almost
exhausted
Plug the mains cable in
correctly
Charge the power packs
Return to factory settings
Acoustic feedback mostly
occurs as a high-pitched sound
if a loudspeaker echoes the
signal of a microphone and at
the same time the microphone
records this signal again. The
signal is increased, reproduced
via the loudspeaker and there
is an electro-acoustic loop. The
monitor has a loudspeaker box
to reproduce filmed recordings
acoustically at the same time.
When filming, feedback can
be avoided in the following
ways: 1. Setting the volume
of the monitors to 0. 2.
Switching to “mute” in the
menu. 3. Using the headset.
4. Ensuring there is sufficient
distance between the mo-
nitor and the microphone. It
is difficult to avoid feedback
when using ODC monitors
with loudspeakers and this
is not a product defect, but a
physical phenomenon.
The device is switched
on, but shows no image:
Check whether the video
(AV) and HDMI cables are
correctly connected.
Incorrect or abnormal colours:
Check whether the cables are
correctly connected. Defects
or loose connector pins on
the cable can lead to a bad
connection.
Aspect ratio is incorrect:
Go to the menu and select
Marker Type: 16:9, 4:3.
2.35:1, 1.85:1 Off. Check the
aspect ratio setting
