Operation
Before first use
➤
Fully charge the battery before first use (see
chapter “Charging the battery” on page 6).
Adjusting the LED violet light lamp
I
Adjusting the beam profile
➤
Turn the lamp head counterclockwise to
widen the beam profile.
➤
Turn the lamp head clockwise to narrow the
beam profile.
Adjusting the light intensity
1. Press the ON button (fig.
1, page 3) to
activate high light intensity.
2. Press the ON button (fig.
again to activate low light intensity.
3. Press the ON button (fig.
third time to activate the strobe light fea-
ture.
Detecting leaks
1. Turn off the engine.

2. Add the appropriate fluorescent dye to the
fluid system.
3. Start the engine and run the system for
5 to 10 minutes to circulate the dye.
4. Turn off the engine.

5. Put on the supplied fluorescence enhanc-
ing goggles.
6. Adjust the LED violet light lamp (see
chapter “Adjusting the LED violet light
lamp” on page 6).
7. Scan the system with the LED violet light
lamp.

Leaks will show a bright fluorescent glow.
8. Repair any leaks.
9. Clean the remaining dye from the leak
sites with a suitable dye cleaner.
10. Reinspect with the LED violet light lamp to
ensure all dye residue has been removed.

11. Run the engine for 5 to 10 minutes.
12. Reinspect with the LED violet light lamp.
✔
No glow means that all leaks have been
repaired.
Charging the battery
I
1. Plug the battery charger into a power out-
let.
2. Firmly plug the power connector into the
socket located on the side of the lamp.

The voltage indicator light on the lamp
(fig.
6, page 3) and on the battery char-
ger (fig.
5, page 3) both light up green as
soon as the lamp is fully charged.
NOTE
• Use a wide beam profile to scan a
large area for leaks.
• Use a narrow beam profile to iden-
tify small leaks.
• Low light intensity helps to reduce
glare.
• The strobe light feature helps to
contrast and identify leak areas.
NOTE
Observe the local regulations for han-
dling chemicals.
NOTE
Use in low-light conditions to achieve
the best inspection results.
NOTE
Residual dye could give a false leak
indication.
NOTE
• A full charge will take approxi-
mately 5 hours to complete.
• The product can be used while
plugged into the battery charger.
