SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING

PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY AND KEEP FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.

Be aware that expandable foods such as apple sauce,
cranberries, pearl barley and oatmeal can foam, froth, sputter
and even clog the pressure release device.
Substances such as baking soda, too much vegetable oil and
alcohol can not be cooked in the Pressure cooker.
After cooking meat with a skin (e.g. ox tongue) which may swell
under the effect of pressure, do not prick the meat while the
skin is swollen; this may cause scalding injuries.
When cooking doughy foods, gently shake the cooker before
opening the lid to avoid food ejection.
The pressure cooker should only be used on a heat source in a
stable position.
Flames must not exceed the pressure cooker walls. Use a small
flame that is central to the base of the pressure cooker.
Always follow the Maximum and Minimum quantities of liquid
stated in these instructions and marked in the pressure cooker.
Always allow the Pressure Cooker to cool completely before
cleaning.
When the Pressure Cooker is under pressure, caution must be
taken of the steam ejected from the valves and vents. Do not
touch safety devices.
Do not open the pressure cooker until it has cooled and all
internal pressure has been released. If the handles are difficult
to part, this indicates that the cooker is still pressurized - do not
force it open. Any pressure in the cooker can be hazardous.
Strictly follow the cleaning and maintenance instructions.
Always check the safety devices are not obstructed before use.
Do not point the pressure release cavity at people.
Do not tamper with any other safety systems beyond the

When cooking foods that expand such as rice or dried
vegetables, do not fill the pressure cooker over ½ full to
accommodate expenditure.
Use oven gloves when handling the pressure cooker to reduce
the risk of scalding.
Never slide the Pressure cooker across the hob surface as this
will scratch both the pressure cooker base and hob surface.
Always lift it up and place down gently.
Always ensure the base of the pressure cooker is dry and
thoroughly clean before placing on hob.
Do not use the pressure cooker to store sugar, alkali, salt,
vinegar, steam water etc. Clean and dry cooker after use.
Take care when opening the lid after cooking as hot steam may
escape and cause burns.
