1. Check the tyre pressure on the indicated
tyre/tyres with a tyre pressure gauge.
2. Inflate the tyre/tyres to the correct pres-
sure in accordance with the tyre pressure
label on the driver's side door pillar
(between front and rear doors).
3. Recalibrate the TM system.
NOTE
•
The TM system uses a so-called com-
pensated pressure value, based on
both tyre temperature and ambient
temperature. This means that the tyre
pressure may differ slightly from the
recommended pressures listed on the
tyre pressure label on the driver's side
door pillar (between front and rear
doors). For this reason, it may be nec-
essary to inflate the tyres to a slightly
higher pressure in order to clear a low
tyre pressure message.
•
To avoid incorrect tyre pressure, the
pressure should be checked on cold
tyres. "Cold tyres" means the tyres are
the same temperature as the ambient
temperature (approx. 3 hours after the
car has been driven). After a few kilo-
metres of driving, the tyres warm up
and the pressure increases.
WARNING
•
Incorrect tyre pressure may lead to
tyre failure, which could result in the
driver losing control of the car.
•
The system cannot indicate sudden
tyre damage in advance.
Emergency puncture repair*
Emergency puncture repair, where the emer-
gency puncture repair kit (TMK - Temporary
Mobility Kit) is used to seal a puncture and
check and adjust the tyre pressure (p. 415).
The emergency puncture repair kit (p. 335)
consists of a compressor and a bottle of seal-
ant. The sealing works as a temporary repair.
The sealing fluid bottle must be replaced
before its expiration date and after use. The
sealing fluid effectively seals tyres punctured
in the tread.
NOTE
The emergency puncture repair kit is only
intended for sealing tyres with a puncture
in the tread.
The emergency puncture repair kit has limited
capacity to seal tyres which have punctures
in the wall. Do not seal tyres with the emer-
gency puncture repair kit if they have larger
slits, cracks or similar damage. Connect the
compressor to one of the car's 12 V sockets.
Choose the socket that is nearest to the
punctured tyre.
