Station handling, type approved
design
There are three different types of helm station a boat
can be steered from.
Local station
The local helm station has superiority over both the
main helm station and remote helm station. The local
helm station is always able to take over control from
another active helm station without unlocking the
active helm station first.
If there is an additional local helm station that is active
it must first be unlocked in order to transfer control to
another local helm station.
Main Station
The main helm station has superiority over the remote
helm station but is subordinate to the local helm sta-
tion.
In order for the main helm station to take control from
an active local helm station or another main helm sta-
tion the active helm station must be unlocked first. The
main helm station can take control from a remote helm
station without unlocking the remote helm station.
Remote station
The remote helm station is subordinate to the local
helm station and the main helm station.
The active helm station must first be unlocked in order
to activate the remote helm station.
Changing helm stations
1 Unlock the active helm station by depressing (
1
).
The padlock (
2
) will go out on all helm stations.
2 Activate the helm station that is to take control by
pressing (
1
). The green lamp on the control will
begin flashing. It is possible to take over control
while the lamp is flashing.
Should helm station change not take place while
the lamp is flashing the transfer is interrupted and
command reverts to the previously active helm sta-
tion.
3 When the control on the helm station assuming
control is synchronized with engine speed and
gear, the lamp in the control will burn continuously
to confirm the transfer. The padlock symbol (
1
)
lights up to show that the helm station is locked.
If the helm station is inactive, the lamp will be extin-
guished.
If the padlock symbol (
2
) is lit, the helm station cannot
be activated. Another helm station is active and locked,
or unlocked with a drive selected (not in neutral).
