Maintenance: Drive SX, DP-S

Bellows. Check

Remove the drive from mounting fork. Check the condi-
tion on the universal joint and the exhaust bellows
every year. If there are cracks or other defects they
must be replaced.

Otherwise replace every other year.

WARNING!

 Removal of the drive requires special

knowledge and tools. A falling drive can cause
serious personal injury. Please contact your near-
est authorized Volvo Penta dealer for assistance.

Lubrication universal joint

1.

Remove the drive from mounting fork.

2.

Press in grease until it is forced out of the bearing.
Use an EP wheel bearing grease.

NOTE! 

The splined joint on the shaft (1) must be

greased using molybdenum grease.

3.

Lubricate the two O-rings (2) with a little engine oil.

WARNING!
