Starting the engine
Read the instruments and warm the
engine up
Allow the engine to idle for the first ten seconds, and
check that instruments and warning displays show nor-
mal values. Check that no warning lamps flash on the
alarm display.
Then warm the engine up at low speed and low load, so
that it reaches normal operating temperature before full
power is used.
IMPORTANT!
Never race the engine when it is cold.
EVC System
When you switch on the ignition or if you start the en-
gine, the EVC system automatically starts up.
When EVC starts up, you will hear two short beeps to
alert you to the fact that the system is functioning. Ad-
ditionally, the Alarm Status Indicator gauge lights will
light up and turn off, in sequential order.
When the engine is started, power is turned off to the
gauges in order to limit battery draw during cranking.
When the start key is released, the gauges and LCD
reset again.
Once EVC has been reactivated, the LCD screen will
display the last menu that was displayed before the
system was shut down.
The EVC system is now in operation, please refer to
"Instruments" and "Menu system" for more information.
