OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

VERSION 11/15

BCC-100 LITHIUM BUTTON CELL CHARGER,

2 COMPARTMENTS

ITEM NO.: 200520

INTENDED USE

The product is intended to automatically charge rechargeable lithium button cell batteries.

The battery voltage can be set manually by means of a slide switch on 3 or 3.6 V as required.

Possible types of accumulators are lithium or lithium ion button cell batteries. The charger

may charge two batteries independently at the same time.
The electronic charging connexion automatically recognises the charge end when the charge

end voltage for the corresponding battery is reached. LEDs on the charger provide constant

information about the current operating state.
The plug-in charger is overload-proof and short-circuit-proof (<1min.). Pay attention to the

polarity! A protective circuit avoids charging with a reversed polarity, which might destroy the

battery and the charger.
Primary batteries (zinc-carbon, alkaline, etc.) or other types of accumulators such as lead

accumulators are not to be connected and recharged.
The charger can only be connected and used in dry indoors and only using AC voltage of

(110 - 240 V/AC). Due to the wide input range, world-wide operation is possible.
For safety and approval purposes (CE), you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If

you use the product for purposes other than those described above, the product may be

damaged. In addition, improper use can cause hazards such as short circuiting, fire, electric

shock etc. Read the instructions carefully and keep them. Make this product available to third

parties only together with its operating instructions.
This product complies with the statutory national and European requirements. All company

names and product names are trademarks of their respective owners. All rights reserved.

EXPLANATION OF SYMBOLS

This symbol indicates a health hazard, e.g. electric shock.

The exclamation mark indicates specific risks associated with handling, function

and use.

The “arrow” symbol indicates special tips and operating information.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety

information. If you do not follow the safety instructions and information

on proper handling in this manual, we assume no liability for any resulting

personal injury or damage to property. Such cases will invalidate the

warranty/guarantee.
a) Persons / Product
•  The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
•  Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. These may become

dangerous playing material for children.

•  Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high

humidity, moisture, flammable gases, vapours and solvents.

•  Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
•  If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and

protect it from any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if

the product:

 - is visibly damaged,
 - is no longer working properly,
 - has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
 - has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.

•  Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height

can damage the product.

•  Never leave the product unattended during use.

•  The structure complies with safety class II (double and strengthened insulating).

Make sure the insulation of the housing is neither damaged nor destroyed.

•  The product generates heat during use. Ensure sufficient ventilation and do not

cover the product during use!

•  Disconnect the product from the wall socket when not in use.
•  Connect the appliance to a wall socket that can be accessed easily.
•  Never connect or disconnect the product if your hands are wet.
•  For safety reasons, disconnect the power adaptor from the mains socket during

storms.

•  Never use the product immediately after it has been brought from a cold room into

a warm one. The condensation generated could destroy the product. The plug-in

power supply unit also involves danger to life by electric shock! Allow the product

to reach room temperature before connecting it to the power supply and putting it

to use. This may take several hours.

•  Never pour any liquids over electrical devices or put objects filled with liquid

right next to the device. If liquid or an object enters the interior of the device

nevertheless, first power down the respective socket (e.g. switch off circuit

breaker) and then pull the mains plug from the mains socket. Do not operate the

product anymore afterwards, but take it to a specialist workshop.

•  On industrial sites the accident prevention regulations of the association of the

industrial workers’ society for electrical equipment and utilities must be followed.

•  In schools, training facilities, hobby and self-help workshops operating chargers

and the accessories should be supervised by qualified trained staff.

•  Keep transmitting devices (mobile telephone, remote controls etc.) away from

chargers as the transmitter signal could interfere with charging and possibly break

the charger and thus the battery.

b)  Rechargeable batteries
•  Primary batteries (zinc-carbon, alkaline, etc.) or other types of accumulators such

as lead accumulators are not to be connected and recharged. There is a risk of

explosion!

•  Correct polarity must be observed while inserting the rechargeable batteries.
•  Rechargeable batteries should be removed from the device if it is not used for a long

period of time to avoid damage through leaking. Leaking or damaged rechargeable

batteries might cause acid burns when in contact with skin, therefore use suitable

protective gloves to handle corrupted rechargeable batteries.

•  Rechargeable batteries must be kept out of reach of children. Do not leave

rechargeable batteries lying around, as there is risk, that children or pets swallow

them. If swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.

•  Rechargeable batteries must not be dismantled, short-circuited or thrown into fire.

Never recharge non-rechargeable batteries. There is a risk of explosion!

•  While charging it is perfectly normal for the accumulator to become „slightly“ hot.

Never cover the charger to avoid possible damage (caused by heat accumulation).

c) Miscellaneous
•  Consult an expert when in doubt about operation, safety or connection of the

device.

•  Maintenance, modifications and repairs are to be performed exclusively by an

expert or at a qualified shop.

If you are not sure about the correct connection or use, or if questions arise which are not

covered by these operating instructions, please do not hesitate to contact our technical

support or another qualified specialist.

OPERATION

The product generates heat during use. Ensure sufficient ventilation and do not

cover the product during use!
Never short-circuit the contacts of the button cells.
When connecting accumulators, always observe the correct button cell voltage

and polarity as well as the charging instructions of the accumulator manufacturer

concerned.
While charging it is perfectly normal for the accumulator to become „slightly“ hot.

Never cover the charger to avoid possible damage (caused by heat accumulation).

1. Use the slide switch (1) to select the adequate button

cell voltage for your button cell battery (3 V or 3.6 V).

2. Slide the accumulator as far as it will go in the right

polarity into the charging compartment (2). The plus

pole (+) of the battery points upwards.

3. Insert the button cell charger into a mains socket. The

charging process starts automatically. The LED starts

blinking green and red by turns.

4. The permanent green LED signalises the charging end.

Pull the plug out of the mains socket after the charging

ended.

5. Use the side interlocks (3) to slide the button cell battery

out of the charger.
