– Undo and remove bolt -1- and remove clamping plate -2-.
– Remove battery -4-.
Installing
Caution
A loosely fitted battery creates the following dangers:
♦ Shortened service life caused by vibration damage (dan‐
ger of explosion).
♦ Damage to the grid plates of the battery.
♦ Damage to battery casing by clamping bracket (possible
leakage of acid with high consequential costs).
♦ Poor crash safety.
Install in the reverse order of removal, observing the following:
– Place battery -4- on battery tray -3- and push towards rear.
– Put clamping plate -2- on and secure with bolt -1-.
– Check battery is firmly seated after installation.
– Connect battery

Note
♦
In vehicles with a battery sensor (start-stop system), the bat‐
tery has to be parameterised after a new starter battery has
been installed.
♦
The battery parameterisation sends the technical data of the
new battery to the battery monitor.
