7.1 Compatible GPS and GPS Data Loggers
The vLocDM is compatible with most Bluetooth operated systems. However, the system has been tried and
tested using the standalone GPS system “M-1200 Wireless GPS Receiver” from “HOLUX” and also “Trimble”
system from “Tri-Global.” Vivax-Metrotech reserve the right to alter or add to this list.
When using the Bluetooth to connect to the external device the system must first be “Paired”.
To pair a device, first switches on the Bluetooth device. Then switch on the vLoc receiver and enter the menu
by a prolonged press of the “i” pushbutton. Scroll down the options using the "+"/"-" pushbuttons until "Bluetooth
pairing" is highlighted. Press the “Return” pushbutton.
The unit will search for available Bluetooth devices. After a few seconds, a list of devices will be shown. Highlight
the appropriate device using "+"/"-" pushbuttons and then press the “Return” pushbutton to select the device.
The system is now paired with this device. It will not be necessary to pair again unless the unit is paired with a
different device. That is to say the locator can only be paired with one unit at a time.
7.2 Transferring Data to a PC
To transfer data from the vLocDM to a PC requires the use of the dedicated Uploader applications program. The
Uploader can be downloaded from the the Vivax-Metrotech website, www.vivax-metrotech.com.
To upload a data file to PC double click on the vLocDM Uploader icon on your desktop. Connect a USB lead
from the vLocDM to the PC. The program will detect the vLocDM locator and display “Locator detected”.
Press the “Log Upload” button. The contents of the locator will be saved to your PC. Import the file to an Excel
spread sheet or similar, for detailed analysis.
