Before refuelling, shut off the engine, let it cool down and
open the cap carefully so as to slowly dissipate the excess
pressure inside the tank.
Do not overfill the fuel tank. To allow space for fuel to
expand, never add fuel above the lower edge of the filler
neck. Please also observe the operating instructions for the
combustion engine.
If petrol overflows, immediately clean any spilled fuel. The
combustion engine should only be started after the dirty
petrol surface has been cleaned. Any attempt at ignition
shall be avoided until the petrol vapors have volatilized (dry
with cloth).
If petrol has come into contact with the clothing, it must be
changed.
Carry the lawnmower only while the combustion engine is
not running. Before transport, switch off the combustion
engine and wait until the cutting attachments have come
to a complete stop.
Always carry the lawnmower when the engine is cold and
without fuel on the tank. This prevents fuel spillage during
transport.
Make sure that the appliance is only used by people who
are familiar with the instruction manual.
Check the leak tightness of the fuel system,
particularly visible parts such as tank, tank cap, fuel
hose, couplings and carburetor primer bulb. In the event of
leakage or damage, do not start the combustion engine and
have the lawnmower serviced by an official distributor.
Pay attention to the area where you are going to use the
lawnmower and check for obstacles, objects (winding
wires, metal pieces). If it is not possible to remove objects
or obstacles, mark them so that the blade does not touch
them.
Before starting the lawnmower:
▪
Carry out an inspection to ensure the correct assembly
of the lawnmower and to ensure safety issues and good
performance;
▪
Check if the spark plug cap (connector) is connected to
the spark plug;
▪
Check that the safety devices are in perfect condition
and function properly. Never use the equipment if the
safety devices are missing, damaged or worn out;
▪
Replace defective parts as well as all other worn out and
damaged parts;
▪
After assembling the accessories and before using the
appliance, you must run a test in maximum speed at no
load for a certain time. Check for moving parts
misalignment or any other condition that may affect the
lawnmower operation. Check that all moving parts turns
smoothly, without abnormal noises;
▪
Perform all necessary adjustments and work. If you have
any questions or difficulties, contact your official VITO
distributor;
•
Observe the local regulations on the hours when it is
allowed to use tools with a combustion engine and the
permitted noise level.
Keep third parties away from the lawnmower's area of
operation, at least 15m away. Never work while animals or
people, especially children, are in the danger zone. When
using the lawnmower, particles may be ejected at high
speed which could cause injury.
Also keep a safe distance from objects (vehicles and glass)
in order to avoid material damage.
When working two or more people simultaneously in the
same area, safety distances must be kept preventing
accidents and injuries.
Work only in daylight or with good artificial lighting. Do not
use the equipment at night or when it is not possible to have
a clear view of the work area.
